1981 - "The first 99 came into the picture for the 1981 season. This was a Group 2 car with approximately 160-170 hp (stock was 110 hp). The first Swedish Rally was in '81. Halfway through the event the transmission gave up. A few rollovers and that shell was history." |

1981 - "This is the last Group 2 SAAB 99 that I had. We managed some okay results with this car on local club events. The best result with this SAAB was on the Swedish Rally in 1982 where we finished in the top 20." |
