The Evo IV has found a new home
1 Mar 2006
Team Jardevall is building a new car to compete in NASA Rally Sport and Rally America stage rallies for 2006 and beyond. The new rally car is a Mitsubishi Evo 8 which was purchased new from San Rafael Mitsubishi.
The 1997 Mitsubishi Evo IV that Team Jardevall has driven for the past four years (2002 thru 2005) has found a new owner on the East Coast. It was repaired and painted following an off road excursion at last September's Colorado Cog. It is pictured here just prior to being loaded onto a trailer for the trip east.
The Evo IV was a potent competitor with Carl Jardevall behind the wheel. It finished in the top five overall several times on national stage rallies, won the Open Class at last year's Oregon Trail, and was the overall winner on many regional rallies in Washington and Oregon.
Jardevall hopes to do even better with the new Mitsubishi.
Team Jardevall had hoped to have the new car ready for Oregon Trail, but that looks doubtful. A more likely debut will be at the Olympus International Rally based out of Shelton, Washington, on May 19-20.
UPDATE: May 15, 2006 -- The new rally car is not ready, so will not be at the Olympus Rally. The roll cage is still being installed as of this date, so the debut is uncertain. Watch this site for further updates.
